It's been 25 years since we built our home and decided it was time to update the kitchen a little. We put in black granite counter tops, new faucets, a white farmhouse sink and red assessories. I painted the walls "winter white" which looks great with the black and red. We also bought a 3' x 6' counter top to go on top of the island that we plan to build. I now have to sew a cover for the toaster i just bought. i can't decide whether to leave the windows bare or sew some valances. Gonna shop for some fabric this weekend. Isn't spring fun?

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

While spending a couple of glorious hours on a recent sunny day, raking and removing leaves from my perennial bed, I uncovered the evidence of things to come. Tiny little spikes of green that will develop into a beautiful pink daylily that will bloom in July and make all those who lay their eyes upon it smile.
I saw a sign in a garden last year that inspired me to make my own. It read "please come into my garden; I would like my flowers to meet you"
"I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden"
