Christmas, 2009 with our family

Welcome to my family......every year, my family has a holiday party at one of the four (one sister lives in Florida) homes of my two sisters and brother who live near by. This year it was held at my brother Ted's and his wife Joanne's home. We had a wonderful time playing games, eating a tasty meal and opening gifts. It is one of my favorite evenings of the whole year. Next year it will be at Jean and Ed's home. And in 2011 it will be at my husband David,s and my home. We all wish our sister Noreen and her husband Larry could join us. Maybe I can talk them into coming in 2011 and surprise the rest of the family. Happy Holidays Everyone and a Safe and Prosperous New Year!

Daylilies Galore

This is a picture of my "selling" daylily garden in full bloom. Daylilies are such easy care plants. Stomp them in and water and they will reward you with beautiful color all season. I have added 3 or 4 new colors this year but won't sell these until I can divide them next year. Daylilies have become a staple in almost every garden I see. Can you see why? - HAPPY SUMMER -

This is my new comfy rocking chair for my sunroom/porch. Was a deal at $85 at an antiques shop. The vintage cushions were included. I love anything vintage. Rock on.......

The recent rains have done wonders for my perennial beds. Everything is growing by leaps and bounds. I have not had to water at all yet this year. A small bird has made a nest in the tiny birdhouse; possibly a chickadee. It's fun to watch him squeeze into the little opening. I will add more foxglove because I love the "cottage garden" look they create. That's all for now.

Happy Spring!

This a picture of me (far right) and my two sisters; Jean on left and June in the middle celebrating my 63rd birthday at the Brewmasters Tavern in Williamsburg, MA. We had a wonderful time eating lunch and laughing about life. After lunch, we stopped at a garden center and bought some plants. I cannot leave a garden center without something green for my perennial beds. In June, we will celebrate June's birthday and in July Jean's. They gave me a "stock pot" for making chicken and dumplings and some Jean Nate' body splash. One practical and one indulgence. Life is Good!

Beautiful May

Isn't May Beautiful in New England? I can smell the lilacs from 20 feet away. I have light purple, dark purple and white lilacs. I would like to add pink ones to my yard. And here are lovely blue forget-me-nots; one of my favorite spring flowers. They are so delicate. We bought and planted a quince shrub today. I can't think of a better way to spend Mother's Day than digging in the dirt.

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE !

My Favorite Reading Place:
This is where I get away from the troubles of the world. I like to read, write, cross stitch, have my morning tea and just dream in my sun room. What you see in the picture is about 1/3 of the entire room. It was the best investment my husband and I made in our home. We just recently added the comfy wicker chair and ottomon. It's also our dogs (Morgan and Sadie) favorite place to watch and bark at the neighbors cats. I think I'll take a nap now.
